Healdsburg, CA: Our Stay at 235 Luxury Suites + Trip Highlights

Part Dos of our Sonoma travel content and it's all about our two minutes of fame as Healdsburg's out-of-town nobility ;) i.e. our stay at 235 Luxury Suites. I've said this before on the blog, but I truly love supporting family-run small business hotels when we travel. Sometimes, they're charming B&Bs. Some other times, they're Insta-ready themed properties. This time, it was an off-the-hook-swanky luxury suite straight out a MTV Cribs episode. (Yes, I'm that old, but that's a topic for another full blog post.)

235 Luxury Suites is an all-suite hotel at the heart of downtown Healdsburg, each suite spaciously planned to house three bedrooms, a living room and a fully equipped kitchen. Oh, and every suite has a deck. Oh oh, and every bedroom in every suite has its own bathroom. Knew you were going to ask about bathrooms.

The philosophy behind the endless square-footage you get at 235 is that visitors visit as a group, that they gather with friends and/or family to enjoy Healdsburg's charms, of which there are many. It was in this spirit that we checked into 235 with our best friends on what ended up being such a fun and relaxing President's Day weekend!

If you'd care to read a happily curated list of reasons why 235 Luxury Suites is on our love list (and should be on yours too!)...

1) It feels like home.
If we weren't underpaid scientists, that is. ;) Jokes aside, our suite was comfortable, clean and decorated to city chic perfection. We had was coffee in the morning at the kitchen table, se slept in with the ceiling fan on (a nostalgic touch I always appreciate in bedrooms, having grown up in Indian homes with ceiling fans) and we enjoyed take-out dessert & wine while cuddled up on the sectional for movie night. Normally, any one of these things makes my weekend. All of them in one weekend?? 235 Luxury Suites, you da best.

2. It's all in the details.

Already touched on the ceiling fan, but can I just say, there are ceiling fans. Yassssssssss! So many thoughtful details had gone into preparing the suite for us and no appreciation was lost on our part. Multiple pillows were placed in every bedroom with the specific criteria of firmness- 'soft' if you're like me, 'medium' if you're weird, 'firm' if you're like my husband. ;) Adapters were provided for hooking up of computers to tv, etc. The bottle-opener in the kitchen averted a serious case of wine country buzzkill.

So many thoughtful details, you guys.

3. Location, location, location.

It doesn't get better than staying in downtown Healdsburg on Healdsburg Avenue at walking distance from all of the food and drink. We pretty much walked to all of our brunch and dinner reservations and it helped immensely that we didn't have to find parking or pay for uber. The wineries we visited were only a short drive away (see this blog post for more on that), so we weren't rushing to account for commute times. But possibly my favorite part about the location was that the central plaza was only a short walk away. If you've visited Healdsburg, you'll agree that the historic plaza and its surroundings are incredibly charming, I could get me a coffee and window shop along the area all day long!

Some of our favorite things right around 235 Luxury Suites...

  • Mustard blooms in the vineyards
This is a sight reserved for those visiting in late winter, so be sure to stop by these beautiful golden fields if visiting then!

Moustache Baked Goods

  • Brunch at the Shed
Still dreaming about their lemon ricotta pancake, y'all. Still dreaming.
Everything is farm fresh and locally sourced and makes me want to live inside the Shed.
  • Dinner and drinks at Bravas
Tapas and drinks at this fun spot was easily the best meal we had at Healdsburg! Everything we had was finger licking good and I already know I'm making a reservation if we're back in Healdsburg again.

If you've been to Sonoma, where did you stay and what did you do? I'd love to know!

This stay was in gracious collaboration with 235 Luxury Suites, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
