Fifty Shades of Neutral

Is there anything harder than going back to work after a holiday? I think not, because all of the coffee and will power this week hasn't helped in keeping my mind from straying into nostalgia-land. Even as I sort through the countless pictures we took while in Peru to share with you guys, I have some fun Spring looks in the pipeline in the meantime, starting with this casual look that's perfect for the warm weekends we've been having lately. Disclaimer: Buffalo is in full bloom, so you may be seeing a lot more of all these gorgeous May flowers in the posts to come!

Since we were pretty much backpackers for most of our trip to Peru, I literally lived in active-wear the whole time! While tanks and sneakers were a refreshing break from my regular wardrobe, I've wanted to wear nothing but breezy, airy pieces since I've gotten home, with maybe a heel or two thrown into the mix. ;) This off shoulder plaid top in the perfect flowy swing silhouette was the first thing I reached for when I got home! The off shoulder style for tops and dresses is a huge trend this season, and I've found that it's my go-to on days when I need to be modest yet chic. I stayed with a clean and neutral color palette in this outfit, but I'm already planning to wear the top with flared jeans for a boho, country vibe or with a fitted midi or maxi skirt for a more feminine summer look.

Thank you for reading, and have a great weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
