Floral Swing Dress: East Aurora, NY

In my neck of the woods, it's almost Memorial Day and we're about to unofficially kick off summer. And with that happy thought and a little awkward jig do I greet the long weekend! Whether you're in my neck of the woods or not, I hope you have some R&R planned for yourself this weekend. Although I'll be spending mine catching up on work and blog backlogs, I've been lucky to have had plenty of R&R in the recent weeks with our families being in town for K's graduation. I'm sharing our day in my favorite neighborhood village of East Aurora in today's post, which I would highly recommend a visit to if you're ever in the Western New York area.

We made the drive into the village post-brunch, itching for some cold coffee and a sweet treat on the patio at our favorite East Aurora spot- Elm Street Bakery. Milk and cookies, done and done! ;) Right next door is Flowers By Nature, a little floral haven tucked away like a secret garden. How cute is that pretty entrance in the picture a few photos down?! The center of town is a short but lovely walk along antique stores and little boutiques full of character and whimsy. My favorite stop for a photo-op is always under this summery striped awning that reminds me of umbrellas in the French Riviera and a certain bow-backed dress I'd have made if I could snip off some of that fabric.. hmmm...

I wore this floral swing dress (appropriately called the 'Strawberry Margarita' print! :)) cutie and danced around town all afternoon for joy! Family, a sugar high and an outfit made for Memorial Day festivities and beyond.. what more does a girl need? :)

Do any of you have fun plans for the weekend? :)
Thank you for reading and have a fun-filled (long or not!) weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
