Hiya pals! We've been calling it romper city around here lately, because what else is there to be worn when the soaring temperatures won't stop soaring? I had to stop and gawk at a certain squirrel the other day on my way home from work.. he/she was sprawled on their stomach on a cold stone slab in the shade with all fours stretched out. Not sure if I was more admiring of the clever heat escape strategy or envious of how publicly acceptable such sprawling postures are in the squirrel community. Not so begrudgingly, I've settled on cute playsuits as my own strategy to beat the heat. If it's in a bold gingham print, I'll take one for every day of the week!
This adorable gingham onesie from Lulu's has been one of my only recent purchases when it was on major sale and under $15 a little while back. What's not to love- timeless print, breathable fabric and subtle feminine details like the surplice bodice and the frill hemline on the shorts! The color scheme also works perfectly well into the fall and winter, and I can't wait to layer it under a cozy sweater with tights and boots. On this particular day, I went with comfy and casual and apparently, whatever is the style genre that includes braids gone wrong. :| I really was trying for something entirely different and very pretty, but you know how it is when the mister's jingling the keys outside the door! End result: The random-est braid mix and I'm owning it, too. ;)
