Winter Simplicity

Returning readers need no telling that I'm a water baby, my most favorite place to spend time during the day being anywhere by the water. Blog posts from the summer can attest to the many happy weekends we spent on the beaches of Lake Erie, and come October when the Buffalo fall normally converts to a full blown winter, I sadly bid the waters goodbye, assuming that they'd freeze over soon like they do every winter. Cut to present day Lake Erie, and voila!, it's an unfrozen, foggy, eerie spectacle in January! *insert heart eyes* We took advantage of a warm Saturday evening some days ago to climb onto the rocks with coffees in hand and watch the sun set behind the fog. The lake was just as, if not even more, beautiful than in the sunlight. :)

Simplicity can be almost synonymous with chic sometimes, and this look is entirely made up of pieces that define simple-yet-chic in my books. A toasty warm turtleneck is a winter essential, and I love the slightly oversized fit, side slits and oatmeal color of this one from Blue Square Boutique. Other small details that I'm loving in this look- the frayed hems on these Current/Elliott jeans via Lyon and Post and the pom on my beanie.. every little thing adds a little something, doesn't it? :)

Thank you for reading and have a fun weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
