Casual Friday: Early Fall Edition
/It’s the week before Thanksgiving and I’m (virtually, at the least) running around in a mini skirt. What is this parallel universe that I’m living in and may I please give my generous thanks- as is warranted this time of the year- to the forces behind it?!
In my defense and for those in search of that Instagram-propagated cozy everything factor, this look is very amenable to fall/winter-izing.
Layering mini-skirts over tights is a well known trick, but have you considered wearing them over skinny jeans this season? All of my favorite it girls are doing it and looking fabulous-er as a result, so it must be a thing?! I’m itching to try it out myself one of these days, so keep your eyes on this corner for a first hand report!
I fully recognize that I do not need to convince anyone of the power of a black tee in any season, but still, I shall try… because I especially love a floral appliqued black tee with a strappy neck detail!
Needless to say, winterizing a look this year includes a hat and some booties. Anyone returning to the blog on a regular basis will recognize this hat from this post, and for reasons I cannot explain, I cannot seem to quit it since re-discovering it in the oldest-of-old corner of my closet! These studded booties also made recent blog appearances here and here, and I don’t know about you all, but I whisper many thanks to unseen fashion forces every time I look at them! insert heart eyes
