Navy Monochrome

Happy Friday, my dears! Just popping in with a quick hello as another crazy week wraps up. Time seems to be taking the express train these days, leaving me huffing and puffing every time I try to catch up with it! Today's look is from a few weekends ago when there were still some leaves on the trees and the sun was as yet not long gone, when we took a short stroll before dinner to enjoy the golden colors around the University campus and snapped some quick pictures just as the ever present wind picked up speed. Now that it's getting cold and all the leaves are drying up, I'm reminded yet again of what a beautiful time of year Fall truly is. :)

Lately, when in doubt, I go monochrome, and navy is just one of those colors that will never seem like too much. This double breasted top/coat is another treasured piece that my Dad brought back from his travels years ago (doesn't he have impeccable taste?!) and I've always found that it brings a classic utilitarian feminine vibe to any outfit, which I absolutely love. To wear it over a navy jumpsuit to create the illusion of separates seemed like a classy way to go about date night at the time, but I've since worn it over blue denim for a more casual monochrome look and on a relatively warm day, even open as a jacket on a full-sleeved tee and skinnies combo, each time to compliments. :)

Thank you for reading and have a fabulous weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
