Even though this week heralds the official start of Fall via the autumnal equinox, there's been a miracle of sorts this year in that we're still hanging on to temperatures in the 70s here in Buffalo. I considered expressing this thought in words for a good ten minutes, I kid you not, for fear of jinxing our good fortune. But as Doris Day sang, que sera sera.. right? ;) Call this transition, an Indian summer or fall, I'm not quite ready to bring out the knits and boots yet and have been holding on to summer pieces that are somewhat fall appropriate in one way or another.
Take, for example, the fun paradise printed romper from AMI Clubwear (on sale for <$20!) in today's post. While the design and cut is as summery as can be, I love how the muted grey + caramel brown color palette in the print mirrors the color changes in the flora and vegetation around us this time of year. Needless to say, a wool/felt floppy hat makes any outfit fall appropriate, and this grey one is a favorite new addition to my hat rack! Sadly, I'll be storing away this onesie along with others come our harsh winter, but had I been facing more temperate weather in the coming months, I'd easily style it with tights and booties and a cozy sweater or jacket in either camel, grey, navy, black or white- all staple colors in cooler weather.
