Tassel Top

Happy Friday! It's a happy one, indeed, because this girl is as stoked as one can be, thanks to a much needed mini-reunion with one of my best gal pals in the city of all cities- New York City! There's nothing quite like seeing a girlfriend after a life-changing few years.. I'm already prepping K for lots of delightful shrill squeals, endless giggles, nostalgic trips down memory lane and plenty of pictures, of course. Thought I'd appeal to the scientist in him if I said to treat it as an educational opportunity to observe and study the female mind, but I'm not sure the poker face I've been getting in return means I got through to him. ;) But there seriously is nothing like NYC in the summer, so we're both looking forward to a quick weekend getaway and being back at one of our favorite places. If you aren't already, be sure to follow my Instagram to come along for the ride! :)

Speaking of getaways, we love taking day trips in the summer to check out the many hidden gems in and around Buffalo, before most of it gets buried in snow in a few short months. We took the ferry over to the newly developed Outer Harbor area by Lake Erie last Saturday, and it was so much fun that I'm already planning the next time we can go! It felt like we were on a private island as we spent a fun few hours chatting with friends by the lighthouse (built in 1833!) overlooking the water before strolling the walking trails to reach a charming little cove where we had the best time watching so many adorable dogs splashing around in the water. I can't think of a Saturday better spent, can you? :)

Probably just as perfect is this Shabby Apple top with the most fun multi-colored tassel trimmed neckline. I'm clearly having a moment with tassels (see my last post for proof!) but what's not to love?! I wore it with simple lace-y shorts, espadrilles for lots of walking and a boater hat that almost flew away with the strong breeze (phew!).. simple and chic, just the way I like it. :)

Thank you for reading and have a fun weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
