Patchwork Bomber Jacket: Ashcroft, Colorado

To those that celebrated, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! To all of you regardless, happy Black Friday! I belong to neither category this year, having just gotten home from California and saving for a trip back again for the holidays.. Priorities, priorities. :) Also high on the priority list is getting the remainder of my Colorado posts out to you guys before another spate of holidays are upon us, and today's post is all about one of our favorite excursions from Aspen- to Ashcroft Ghost Town.

As you can probably tell from it's name, Ashcroft is now uninhabited and has been since the early 1930s, but it was a prosperous mining town that was larger than Aspen back in the 1800s! All remnants of the town are preserved and displayed for self-guided tour takers such as ourselves, and offer a fascinating glimpse into the life of miners back in the day. It doesn't hurt that the town is nestled amidst the mountains, offering postcard-like vistas at every angle! Serendipitously, I happened to wear my version of a tough girl look on this particular day. ;) A simple black tee over moto leggings (thick as denim, so no tunics required!), topped with a fun appliqued bomber jacket decked out with patches and pins galore! My favorite embroidered patch of them all is actually on the back- once a dreamer, always a dreamer. :)

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
XO Sushmitha :)
