What I Wore: NYFW

NYFW 1

Everyday since about a week ago, I feel like I've been waking in a dream. At first, it was because I couldn't believe I was going to NYC for festivities related to New York Fashion Week. Next, because I was at NYC and being asked by street style photographers at Lincoln Center if I would mind if they took a picture of me (Thought Bubble: What the what?! Someone twist my hand...this can't be real.). And finally, since my return home, I've been endlessly reliving my dreamy experience through precisely seven pictures that I was able to take on my phone (Note to self: Buy yourself a wireless charger for your birthday.). Before you think I'm the over-achiever that gets to attend NYFW with a blog that's two months old, I should remind you of my previous post and clarify that I was attending The Vane's launch party at NYFW. Attending the runway shows at NYFW. . . Ah, now that's a bigger dream for another day. Baby steps and small milestones will do, for now.

Hosted by Air Optix Colors and Proximo Spirits at the cute and classy Vanguard Wine Bar, the official launch of The Vane was such a fun event! Apart from meeting the sweet founders of The Vane, Chubi and Kirsten, I'm so happy that I got to personally meet so many of my favorite bloggers after aeons of being Insta-friends! Mimosas, fashion and new friends on an afternoon in NYC.. No better introduction to NYFW!

After the brunch party, I met up with Susannah (right most), the gorgeous blogger behind NYC-based Blush Out The Door, for coffee and some girl talk. As if the Manhattan humidity hadn't gotten the best of me yet, my blogger bestie Jyotsna (left most) of Cuppajyo, Susannah and I headed over to Lincoln Center where all the action is, to shoot some outfit photos and for a whole lot of people watching! To watch bloggers, photographers, street style stars, editors and other professionals of the fashion industry come together in one venue was so exciting and needless to say, the style all around was beyond inspiring.

My look for this busy day was born out of so many necessities. I had to stay cool in the heat, I was going for a semi-formal look and I had to incorporate enough color to stay true to my summer state of mind while incorporating key elements of Fall fashion. Overall, I managed to check off most of my criteria, no? :)
